Tumblr version of Not Another Aiden. This tends to be more personal and less trans-related than the blog. Expect Harry Potter, Glee, and whatever else I find interesting.
I feel the same. (About the child thing, I’m not liking what is implied by the birth certificate thing)

I just don’t get what’s so important about my genes that they absolutely must be passed on.  It’s not like I can’t have kids otherwise.  It’d be harder, I pretty much have to adopt out of California and preferably through a more liberal county, but it’s an option.  Or I could take up one of my friends’ offers of being a surrogate if having the kid from birth is really important to me (which it most definitely is not).  No need to go around acting as if I’m the only person who can create the next Einstein or something.

The birth certificate thing is mostly my irritation at people getting up in arms over states don’t destroy the original birth certificate when someone changes theirs.  I get the reasoning, but the reality is that the name and gender change are a matter of public record anyway so it’s not like you’re really hiding anything.  The people who see your birth certificate are almost universally already going to know or will find out soon after.  That and the fight over second parent adoption rather than the non-biological parent being listed on the original birth certificate which is a long rant that started with Beatie and just kept growing.
